Kenny received a NUS (Registrar) scholarship and award in 1990/1991. He graduated with an LLB(Honours, 2nd Upper) from the National University of Singapore in 1991. He was placed amongst the top 10 during his PLC.
He was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of Singapore in 1992.
He is a Fellow of the Singapore Institute of Arbitrators (SIArb). He sits on the secondary Panel of Arbitrators of SIArb and the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC) respectively. He also sits on the Panel of Arbitrators under the Law Society Arbitration Scheme.
He has been appointed by the Chief Justice to be a member of the Inquiry Panel under the Legal Profession Act.

He has represented clients in Court of Appeal hearings, open Court hearings (both High and Subordinate Courts), chamber hearings, arbitration hearings,Strata Titles Board hearings, mediations, settlement conferences and negotiations.
His shipping/admiralty experience extends to the arrest and release of ships, and sale of ships, cargo claims, charterparty disputes, mortgage claims, bunker claims, freight forwarder claims, repair claims, wage/disbursements claims and agency claims.
