Claressa Monteiro
Singapore based Claressa Monteiro is the first South East Asian signing by legendary international jazz label, EmArcy Records. A label owned by Universal Music, the world's largest music group.
Ms Monteiro is also the first Asian jazz singer to endorse Sennheiser microphones and is Singapore's first Ambassador for Swiss luxury watch maker; Ebel.
In July 2001 ELLE magazine named Claressa Monteiro one of Singapore's hottest music makers. Since then, Ms Monteiro's career has soared to new heights. With a formidable talent and a stage presence which melds subtle glamour and high-octane exuberance, the vocalist is the island's most sought after performer at high profile events which include the Mont Blanc Business Woman of The Year Awards, Time Magazine's Travel Awards and Mediacorp Radio's Ear Awards.
To date, she has made guest appearances at the Singapore Arts Festival, the CHIJMES Annual Jazz Festival, the Heineken Jazz Festival Under The Stars, the Heineken Hanoi Jazz Festival and the Asian Jazz Yatra in Mumbai, India.
On August 15 & 16, 2002, Starhub presented Ms Monteiro in a full concert feature at the Jubilee Hall, Singapore. It was a landmark in the singer's career and was covered by Channel News Asia and TV12's Arts Central.

Her debut CD release 'Now & Then' is the first musical product by a Singaporean to be released worldwide by a major record company. Warmly received in her home territory, 'Now & Then' appeared in the Top Ten of the HMV Jazz Charts within the first week of its release.
Perhaps the most exciting performer to emerge from the Singaporean music scene in recent times, Claressa Monteiro is set to become its most successful jazz export. For more information on Claressa Monteiro, please visit the singer's website, www.claressamonteiro.com
